Hi Class,
On Friday, we will dedicating some time to making mini photo zines. What is a zine? A zine is a self-published magazine. They operate as small portable works of art.

What will you need to make a mini zine?
1.Your flashdrive/hardrive with your selection of images that will be showcased in the zine. For this assignment only, you may use images from Week 1-8.
2. Extra materials to embellish your zines like glitter glue pens, collage materials, printmaking scraps, screenshots, memes, bring everything but keep in mind the size.
3. AN IDEA! The zine is a vessel for you to share your thoughts with the world. Do you want to talk about feminism, music, nature, art, politics? Or do you want to make a sci-fi comic utilizing your images?
This is the template for the zine we will be making:

I love this format because you can use the opposite side as a poster or to continue your narrative.
At the end of class we will be posting the zines up in the FAD finishing room as part of a mini-zine exhibit.
If you have any questions about this activity please let me know.
Hope all is going well with the scavenger hunt!
Best,
Sue Montoya
